Screenwriters Discuss 'Worst Notes Ever' on WGA 'Beyond Words' Panel

As a "Top Contributor" at this Stage 32 screenwriting forum, it's my God given duty to keep supplying you with slop I find about screenwriting on the world wide web and your job to lap it up like kitties sipping milk. I just read this really funny article about well-known writers who received idiotic notes on critically acclaimed work. The dumbest notes I've received were from one of the big three agencies: Here is a quote I found to be particularly idiotic: "This script is strong in its structure, which is fragmented over the years and tells a compelling tale. However, it is weak in its familiarity and lack of strong dialogue. It could have commercial appeal if cast well. Depending on the strength of the acting to carry the poor dialogue and average plot, this could have Oscar worthy potential, though a major rewrite is in order." Wait, if my dialogue is so poor, good actors could make it Oscar worthy? Cough talking Jackoff! What were your worst notes ever? http://variety.com/2017/film/news/screenwriters-wga-worst-notes-ever-120...

Phillip, thanks for the fun posting. A reminder that a note is just another opinion.
