Don't know about you, but however old I am on the outside, inside, I'm 35. November has been taken up with making a short film about age and the perceptions of age for our local arts centre. I wrote the script, co-directed it and am a producer. The film is called INSIDE I’M 35 and is just over eight minutes. It was shown at the Farnham Maltings on 12th December before the feature film. The audience laughed in the right places and applauded when it finished.
I wanted the audience to see beyond people’s years. That before they were old they lead a rich life. We did this by opening with two older people telling their stories, then we went into a short light hearted drama where a granddaughter had assumptions about what her grandfather would do, now he has retired.
