I've written and shot two short films (one 30min, one over an hour so far) and have made a habit of using natural light or available light as often as possible. I don't own any significant lighting gear, and use a T3i for all of my work, but like to think that the work stands for itself regardless.
The image below is from my first film, Abigail. It's the 30 minute film that has some gnarly sound issues due to my own shortsightedness, but otherwise I'm proud of it.
Is it possible to view these films?
Martin - look at the short film on my profile (Forest Spirit) - that was shot on a hand held T2i with only natural light. My opinion is that you could use a little fill on the lower part of the silhouette shot so as not to lose his legs. It would be nice to view the film.
Abigail is online and available to view, but Mockingbird is still being worked on. I will say, Abigail has atrocious audio issues throughout that are difficult to ignore. While I stand by the rest of it, the audio is something I deeply regret not taking more seriously.
