Screenwriting : Is anyone here planning on making their own content? by Craig D Griffiths

I have a five page sci-fi short that I am working on producing using animation software. Its going to take some time because I am learning the software as I go and have to build all the character models from scratch. Sound, voice acting and music is going to be issues all their own once I get things past a certain point. It will be a learning experience and a labor of love.

I've already started filming the Assumptions series. It's a drama based on my own book series. I'm writing the screenplay and directing while having several others do the tech work. I'm also going to start production on a short that I wrote for a film contest, it didn't win, but made it to the second round here on S32

Wrote the script, now Producing and directing my own feature.film with a full crew. To the adventure!

I'm in pre-production on a low budget SAG compliant Slasher film for my first "Produced By" just to get my feet wet. Should be in the can by next summer.

I figure I need the experience dealing with Unions before I make a serious effort at a big budget production.

Yes, working on a short film called " Vincent" with a French team.. In post-production now. In Oktober film will be finished.

I've only thought of the idea. I'd actually be interested in trying my hand at it in the future.

This is so encouraging. I am excited to see all the outcomes of these projects.

I am a strong believer that writers are the first filmmaker. There is nothing better for your career, craft or reputation than the production of your work. If no one is going to make something you have written it is up to you.
