I have written a few novels and love the art of storytelling. Two minor characters have such a dynamic relationship in my latest novel I thought that they needed their own story. As I developed their story, I found that I could not do the story justice with just words on paper, it has to be a film to really energize the comedy in it. So my question is, Is it best to start promoting it as it is written, or wait until It is a completed screenplay?
My back ground and connections in film; next to nothing.
My determination to see this project through to the big screen; I'll put a year or more of my salary to it.
I wanted to show some of the challenges and hilarity that truckers face in their day to day trips back and forth across this nation

I'm not a professional scriptwriter by any stretch, but everything I've read from the pros says have finished script in-hand before any promotion.

ditto. not sure anyone who has connections will take you seriously before the script is written.

Thank you CJ, Sam and Damion. When writing a novel, it is opposite. You start advertising in your close knit circle first then expand out as the novel progresses.
