This is a screenplay I wrote inspired by a particular event that occurred November 8, 2016 that still haunts many of us to this day. The script is still being pitched but in the meantime I've reverse engineered it into a novel to be released next month.
"The year is 2024, Chicago. Most of the world has survived the coronavirus (COVID-19); however, the United States is recovering from a war with China on U.S. soil dubbed the Twitter War because it started over…a Tweet. Russia is now a new ally and has a huge presence and political influence in the U.S. A resistance faction of antiheroes formed during this time known as “We The People”, who plan to overthrow the fascist regime and install new power restoring democracy in America before another election is stolen."
Leaders of the People's Movement:
Dr. Torrance "Shaka" Muhammad
Judge Constance Ayers
Senator Amir Hadad
Chavez, Chief Tech Officer
Solace, Artist

Hey, Christopher M. Rutledge! I'm giving feedback on Fridays as part of a #FilmmakerFriday thing I'm trying! If you'd like to participate, scroll through Your Stage (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/promotion) and give feedback to at least three other videos that have posted! Then, copy and paste this info for them to join.
Wow, what a powerful image! Especially the colorful flames on a b&w depiction with the American flag facemasks. The song sounds like it's just slowed down, right? It was interesting at first, but the long it plays, the less I like it. Maybe you could start it at a more normal pace and then slow it down? Also, with a full minute, I really want to see some inserts of the individual faces so I can get to know them - maybe even a name and brief bio to go with them? Keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing! I hope the feedback is helpful, and I look forward to seeing your notes on others' posts, too!
