Screenwriting : Issues by Nicholas P

Issues

Issues has a new villain, who wants to help bring her to life? I have an actress in mind. She is a model and a was part of the dance moms show. Maddie Ziegler. For Maddie to play that part, she would have to stay in a isolation cell for a day. Why that way you ask? It will get her in the role of the character and jail depresses you.. For Nick Rivers, it would have be played by someone that has that lead driven for the role.

Nick Assunto

Pretty sure you can't make your actors stay in an isolation cell as that's technically abuse... but if they want to do it themselves then that's their method more power to them. People are obsessed nowadays with more "realistic" acting. Works for some. Doesn't work for others. I don't think everyone needs to do it the way Daniel Day Lewis does it. To quote Sir Laurence Olivier to Dustin Hoffman "My dear boy, why don't you just try acting?"

Nicholas P

Nick Assunto I mean if they want to they can stay in a motel room by themselves for a couple of days. best solution I can think of.

Craig D Griffiths

Nicholas P what if I told you that you had to suffer a brain injury to develop your story telling ability. It worked for me.

It is called process. Every person is different.

Henri Szeps a great Australian actor grew up in a French orphanage. When he needs to feel sad he thinks of one particular child he knew. Regardless of what makes the character sad. Henri thinks of that kid.

Nicholas P

Craig D Griffiths I did have a brain injury when I was born. I also had blue baby syndrome. So I know how kids think. Dan Guardino I'm getting ideas for the actor. Staying isolated by yourself can mess you up. It's an idea.

Nicholas P I suffered a head trauma at 3, still have dyslexia. I think it is important to let people work their own path to get to where they need to be. I was saying that you don’t need to have a brain injury to get where I am in my creative process.

PS: Really happy yours isn’t holding you back.

Nicholas P

Craig D Griffiths it isn't. Thank you.

Anna Mantovani

I don't think you need to have ACTUAL depression to act depressed. In the end, what matters is what happens in front of the camera, she just needs to look depressed there.

Nicholas P

Anna Mantovani Your right. It was an idea though.
