Screenwriting : Script Exchange! by Jason Gonsalves

Script Exchange!

Heyyyyy guys,

I wrote a coming of age dramedy that tackles gender stereotypes, self-love, parental trauma, race, and inclusive love. It all centers around an acid trip. The feedback I'm getting on it is wildly divisive because of the premise. I'm looking for some open minded AND BIPOC opinions on it. Would love to script exchange with someone who also has a coming of age dramedy as well. Comment on this post and I will contact you.

Jason, I'd like to read your script...if you don't mind exchanging with the closest I've got to a coming-of-age dramedy, "Gayle Strawberry and Her Soda Pop Music Makers."

All the VERY BEST to you, Jason! Glad you're here on Stage 32!

You ask for an opinion - this is only my take. Coming of age stories often follow interesting threads (I've got two; a FL titled Halt and a short titled Hope and a Wish). They can be comedic, dramatic or any other structure and stand on their own (Juno and Precious come to mind). You want to include all sorts of other significant issues that only serve to muddle your theme and weaken the story line. My advice is to clearly define your intended theme and stick with it.

Please don't try to contact me (you are out of my area so I can't work with you).
