Introduce Yourself : My 15 minutes were 26 years ago by Jack Chaucer

My 15 minutes were 26 years ago

Former NFL coach Bill Parcells called me a "jerk" for asking a "dumb-ass" question following a Patriots-Jets game in December 1994 (Do you feel you out-coached Pete Carroll today?). Yes, that got a lot of coverage, even though the internet was in its infancy and Facebook was still a decade away. I'm still toiling in newspaper journalism, believe it or not, but my passion is creative writing. I've been cranking out novels, short stories and kids books on the side for the past decade in relative obscurity, but it's been fun. Now I'm peddling a new feature film screenplay inspired by the infamous Harvey Weinstein. I just discovered Stage 32 and I must say it's exciting to join such an impressive community of creatives. I look forward to collaborating with you all on some present or future project. Cheers, Jack

Hey, Jack Chaucer! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you and welcome! HA! That's awesome - hey, we all have our moments, eh? LOL!

Where are you at in the process? Do you need feedback or are you ready to pitch? Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read!

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time.

Thanks for reaching out, Karen. I appreciate it. I've been getting pretty insightful feedback/criticism/advice on my screenplay and revising it for the past 3 months. I feel like it's ready to pitch and have begun prepping in that regard. Yes, I plan to check out the lounges and connect. The acting lounge sounds interesting. A virtual table read would be very cool. Thanks again for the support!

Good luck!
