Introduce Yourself : Richard Dwyer by Richard Dwyer

Richard Dwyer

Hello all. I am an audio/video production teacher with an MFA in Creative Writing currently teaching at a high school in San Antonio, TX. I have two screenplays under my belt, a historical drama and a modern family drama. Both are being rewritten. I am also in the beginning stages of writing a musical parody and a teen sci-fi script.

In a past life I was co-founder & co-owner of INOV8 Productions in Las Vegas. INOV8 was a boutique video production company that focused primarily on corporate videos for the casino industry.

I am currently working with one of our art teachers and four of our students to produce a marketing package for a local non-profit which will consist of a 3 minute video, plus an updated marketing poster and banner for the organization. The students are advanced audio/video production and graphic arts students and I love acting as a mentor/executive producer on this project. The final products will be entered in the BexarFest competition here in San Antonio in late January. Based upon what I have seen from these kids, I believe we have a good shot at being at or near the top of the competition.

Hey, Richard Dwyer! I feel like we've met before, but just in case - My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you! How goes it with the screenplays?

Hey, I used to teach high school, too! I can totally relate to wanting to be a mentor. I'd love for you to post about what you've had to address with your students - maybe in the Filmmaking Lounge? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!
