Screenwriting : Anyone interested in working on a script together. by Suryansh Mishra

Suryansh Mishra

Anyone interested in working on a script together.

Hello everyone. I am Suryansh Mishra and I am here from India. Well, I am a big TV show and movies geek, Few years ago, I got into screenwriting, well my basic intention is to create a show one day, for Netflix. I've been writing scripts in the crime thriller and sci-fi genres. I wanted to ask you if anyone here is willing to work with me and then we can pitch it together; the basic problem is that as I live here in India, it is tough for me to make connection with agents, managers, and of course writers. Well, Stage 32 is really a great program for me and a lot of other people like me. I would love to work with you and then pitch it as co-creators. Because the more insight we get, the better the things get. And, yeah the biggest reason I get turned down at most of the places is, my age, I am just 15 when I fill the form for most of the agencies they ask for the age to be over 18. That's why I want someone in my corner, whom I can work with, share those exciting thoughts.

Welcome to the community, Suryansh! I love you're energy and enthusiaism! I agree with Barry, Netflix is hard to get into for a new writer/unrepped writer. They don't accept unsolicited material, you have to have an in or someone to vouch for you. But! keep chasing your dreams because you never know what could happen ;) I wish I got in the screenwriting game when i was your age. When i was 15, I was playing with hot looks dolls lol. I don't believe in the word "realistic". Yes you have to be realistic ( here's that word that i hate again) about what you want but in a world full of naysayers and negative people that are like rain clouds, you have to be a little crazy, if that makes sense. If having a show on Netflix is your goal, I say go for it and work hard to attain it! Feel free to reach out to Jason Mirch, Director of S32 Script Services at j.mirch@stage32.com he would love to know what you are working on and how he can help. Jason will also give you a free month in The Writer's Room, which is like our screenwriting university. All the best ;)
