Introduce Yourself : Keep On, Keeping On... Toward Those Goals by Noel Vinson

Hello all! My name is Noel Vinson and I am an independent Producer, Writer and Director originally from Garden Grove, CA but now based in Sydney, Australia. I really appreciate the nudge from RB in terms of this Introduce Yourself Weekend. I'm usually a quiet person, but I take this weekend's prompt to be a bit more vocal and officially introduce myself.

I consider myself a horror filmmaker, first and foremost, but lately, I have been working toward a character driven drama, concerning subject matter I never thought I'd explore... until a great idea slapped me in my face! As such, 2020's mandatory lockdowns and quarantines have provided me the time to be more creative for myself and those who I closely work with. I recognize I may have had an easier go, being based in Australia, but I am quite proud in attaining more and more of the goals that I have set out for myself.

Because of the limitations dictated by COVID policies coupled up with usual budgetary constraints, my close team and I had decided to make 1-Minute horror Shorts for social media release purposes. We started with one idea, and it grew to where, we've found ourselves inadvertently creating somewhat of a Series to where we're releasing a new horror short at the top of every month. Of course, the hope is that any eyes that enjoy these Shorts may be more inclined to check out the longer form projects that may come out of the creative nucleus.

As such, attaining short term goals, dictates the drive and hunger toward those longer term goals. And I wish YOU ALL the same passion and hunger that I have been fortunate enough to genuinely feel throughout these stressful processes of filmmaking (even if only over multiple short productions).

Outside of filmmaking, I host a True Crime podcast called 'The Evidence Locker'. If anyone is into true crime, it may be worth a check.

I suppose that's all for me, but let me wrap things up by saying that I have grown to find Stage 32 an indispensable pool of knowledge and now I need to up my networking game. Any takers lol?
