Screenwriting : March Goals. by Tim Bragg

Tim Bragg

March Goals.

As we end February, what are your writing goals for March? Mine is to finish the final draft for my feature Henry's Ghosts.

Xaviera Iglesias

To finish the first draft of my murder mystery, no titles yet. I'm letting the story speak to me. My placeholder is Rich Old Lady Murdered. Hahahaha!

Tim Bragg

Best of luck with that.

Craig D Griffiths

I wrote an idea for the WriterDuet 48 hour comp. The idea will not leave me. Mostly the wife character. She is really cool. I like her a lot.

I am write a bit of a treatment. Just play with the story. If I can get to about 30-40 moments it is a feature. I may start playing with that.

Ronika Merl

Representation.

Aray Brown

Finish writing the rest of my episodes. I feel compelled at this point

Selma Karayalcin

Finish the second draft of my screenplay on Maud Allan, start pitching 'Her Ruby Heart' and, dare I say it, try for representation. When I read what I've written it seems way too much considering I am a full time English teacher!! I can but try!

Kiril Maksimoski

Take a vacation. Paid one...

Michael Keeling

Finishing writing my Viking Series Script Viking Brotherhood: The Two Brothers :).

Tim Bragg

CRAIG, that sounds interesting, good luck with that. DAN. I hope you finish it, best of luck with it. RONIKA. I hope you find that agent. BARRY. Bible stories are hard to make work because everyone has their own vision of what religion is. I will mow my lawn later and wait for your series, good luck with it. ARAY, there must be a role for me, best of luck with this project. SELMA, the best of us is discovering things we can do without knowing it, until we try, wishing you the best with all of this. KIRIL. Enjoy that vacation. MICHAEL, the title itself sounds interesting, best of luck with this.

Doug Nelson

Get the studio back up and running after the remodel.

Dan Davis

I've got two new features that I've outlined so I need to pick between them. I also have an idea for a short... But I've never made a short so it would probably just end up a script.

Either way, lots and lots of writing!

Tim Bragg

Doug, hoping you get up and running again.

Tim Bragg

Dan. I find working on different things at once keeps me creative, if I have no ideas for one story. I can work on the other. Shorts are fun, you have to jump into the story fast. I like micro-shorts but there is not a big market for them, good luck with everything.

Dan Davis

Tim Bragg That's how I roll too! I find it means I always have something to write. The short should be a good experiment. Good luck with your work.

Freyja Seren (she/her)

I'm hoping to get a draft of one pilot finished and the plan of another series unpacked

Tim Bragg

Thank you Dan, FREYJA good luck with the pilot series. GARY, wow, that sounds intense and interesting. I wish you well with it.

Maddison Bullock

Tim Bragg I completely agree with using micro-shorts to jumpstart creativity! I wrote a 7 page short with no dialogue and in a matter of days, I had a new idea for a feature screenplay... Totally unrelated to my short! My goal is to my second full read of STORY I've been going through it chapter by chapter and studying the films/scripts along the way. I read it once before but am treating it as a class now!

Tim Bragg

Maddison, it sounds like you have plan, good luck with it.

Selma Karayalcin

Thanks, Tim and good luck to all of us in achieving our March aims :)

Selma Karayalcin

Maddison, Do you mean, "Story" by McKee? He is a genius! I participated in a three day seminar he gave in London in 2019 - it basically changed my screenwriting life!! Here are a few gems: " A good story well told is a story worth telling" and "Have a passion for perfection" and "You can only create what is already in your head."
