Any suggestions for reputable sales agents that can give sales estimates on indie films? Project is in development. Budget is 250K range, female driven contained thriller.
Understood. Not looking for anything unusual - just a sales agent to run their low/med/high estimates, based on set of critical assumptions including potential cast etc.
I'm sure sales agents would have a checklist of what they need to know to help analyze the range. The real question is, in which market? Are you thinking the US/domestic market? Or are you looking at the international market as well?
most sales agent or distributor would need more info, such as genre of the movie, length of the movie, any named actors in it, and finally they wioll need to watch your film to be able to give you a rough idea of what type of sales is possible, there is no 'general' ways to say since every movie is different.
First up, thanks for the thoughts! Absolutely agree with all of this. Sorry if I was not clear, I 100% will be providing that information to whomever I end up talking with, but didn't want to outline the entire thing in this chat since the project is in development and therefore, there's a lot of assumptions at this stage.
My "250K range, female driven contained thriller" was merely to clarify that this is indie and not a 15M comedy etc. Also, in case it comes up, I completely intend and expect to pay the sales agent for their time. Right now, I am just looking for a reputable sales agent with whom I can start the conversation etc. Primarily I am looking for foreign estimates based off a set of critical assumptions. I assume there will be very specific questions that need answers on that front etc. I have been given a lead though, so I'll probably start there. Thanks!
Go to IMDb Pro, look up films that are similar to your (genre, budget) and see who was the SA. Contact them; be sure to mention you're willing to pay for estimates, otherwise they'll probably blow you off.
Impossible to do without more info. Depends on previous track record, quality, crew, and name power of attached stars.

Are there any sales agents in my network who can help Ant J. Fallon out?
