It depends what your visa or status allow you to do, in terms of getting hired or looked at even for roles as I believe the U.S is quite strict. I think to take up paid acting in U.S, you'll need to be on an O1 visa with acting specifically in order to book paid work. However, if you're just looking to get involved in unpaid indie work then that's a hobby you'd be welcome to anywhere and the best place to look for that would be Facebook groups for filmmakers and acting in your area.
*I'm not American, so there may be people on here better placed to advise but that's my general understanding.
