Introduction

Hi all,

I have been rewriting a feature lentgh script working title Chinook, logline below. Received notes from an executive through Stage 32.

Also, I keep promoting my short film The Netherworld on YouTube https://youtu.be/bg6tiN7AnFM

from a feature lentgh script working title The Netherworld.

LOGLINE:

Suzanne’s father dies in Afghanistan and she has a dream that sets in motion the journey of a lifetime; to prove that her tribe, the Pacific Northwest Chinook, still exists. Against all odds, Suzanne carves a dugout canoe from a cedar log and paddles it over the open Pacific ocean to an Indigenous tribal gathering in Seattle and becoming part of the vast Native American landscape of her dream.

Stay creative and keep chanllenging yourself.

Cheers,

Hugh

Great to see you again, Hugh Potter! How did it go with the Stage 32 executive? I definitely love the concept, and the dream-like quality is coming through your opening clearly. It might be worth it to open with more of the character stuff and then lead into the dreamlike flashes so you don't lose the interest of your viewers. I think it was Peter Jackson who once said that in editing, you have to see a character you care about/recognize every 3-5 seconds or people stop watching. Other than that, I would love to see more films that uplift the native voices!

Kay, super happy you love the concept. It has become a true labor of love. Great suggestion. All the best, stay creative and stay safe. Hugh
