Pitch Deck and what is needed to approach a producer?
I have a great pilot episode that I'd LOVE to get eyes on so that it can go to an audience. What do I need to prepare to make sure that it is a professional presentation of what I hope to create with my series?
Welcome to Stage 32 Drew Crocker and Maurice Vaughan sent the best link! It's literally got everything you need to start putting together your sales package. Have fun!
Drew Crocker, you've probably heard this, but the best way to meet people (and begin to develop relationships) is to get on-set (as a volunteer, if needed), be professional, give more than take. In time, the friendships you'll gain will turn into connections who believe in you.
Definitely check out the free Stage 32 Pitching Guidebook which is a great reference to structure your pitch, whether it is a 2-page pitch document, a 5-minute verbal pitch, or a 15-30page pitch deck: https://www.stage32.com/sites/stage32.com/themes/two/pdfs/happy-writers/Stage_32_Pitching_Guidebook.pdf
Thank you so much Karen "Kay" Ross i am just first thinking WHO can I even talk to? HOW can I get a dang agent hahaha! It’d really help my motivation to know those things BUT I understand it never hurts to be prepared so… I shall take your advice :)
Also. If you haven’t already check out the trailer to my pilot and subscribe to support the channel :)
I'd agree with Kay to make sure you have all your materials ready to go even before you have anyone to pitch it to or discuss it with. You only have a few minutes, or seconds, to sell yourself and your project. Be ready when the opportunity arises!
I had the opportunity to speak to someone involved in selling a show. They spent $4k on their pitch deck for a show based on an established IP. Money went to artist renditions, editing, and deck presentation. Bring your "A" game. You only get one chance to make an impression AND the competition is insane. Their pitch deck was absolutely well done and they sold the show. *You're not making a book report to your literature teacher, you're making a business pitch so that a production company will invest in you.
Ok. So. I just read the Star Wars pitch deck and another for a different marvel like series. And… it didn’t look too complex. They were both between 5 to 15 pages long and had:
Introduction
Tag line
Log line
Synopsis
Character descriptions
The world
Target audience
Is this an abbreviated pitch deck or are there longer ones available to check out like Karen "Kay" Ross mentioned?
If it is a series to I have to show plot for each episode?
I think you can mimic whichever pitch deck suits you. You're pitching something different so if it inspires you creatively to sum up your story visually then you're good to go! There's no wrong answer here. And if it is a wrong answer, you'll know and then you tweak it and try again with another approach. You may have to pitch to a gazillion people, but it just takes 1 yes. A lot of great advice above...build your team, get key attachments in place as they'll want to get the project off the ground too, and remember NO stands for next opportunity. You have faith in your project, so others might too!
@stage32 has a tremendous amount of materials, courses, blogs, webinars, classes and advice on this subject. The above link is a good starter. Dig deep into this helpful trove of information provided by the Stage 32 team and associates.
Thank u guys so much for all this support and information! As I’m soaking all of this up I am still taking action on what I am knowledgeable of and that is writing and producing. So if you’re curios please check out Act 1 of my pilot :) just trying to prove that what I can create IS entertaining before I start asking anyone to back my project.

What do you need to approach a producer? A relationship with that person.

True! yes of course :) but I just need to start meeting people I guess. Could you introduce me to anyone who loves producing comedy?

Continue to interact on here, Drew Crocker. It could lead to you building relationships with comedy producers.
You can also pitch to comedy producers with Pitch Sessions (https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions).
There are job lead/writing job websites you can try like International Screenwriters' Association (https://www.networkisa.org/writinggigs) and Screenwriting Staffing (https://www.screenwritingstaffing.com/).

You need a team of established backers/ppl who can actually make a show. Then do a pitch deck with your ppl present.

Please do not use Star Wars/Marvel pitch decks as an example for you to mimic.
No disrespect but you aint ready for a franchise assignment
