I feel like I always have trouble with how I go about writing my stories. Everybody always tells me I have really great ideas that they love but I feel like I'm not executing them well when I go to write the script. Any advice?
Is it a film? Not all stories are meant to be films.
That is not a criticism, it is a fact. Many wonderful stories would make terrible films.
So let’s assume it is a film. You have to grow your craft. An idea is not film, it is an idea. You have to learn how to turn an idea into a film. This is a long slow process.
First step is read screenplays. Lots and lots of screenplays.
Switch careers and become an Executive. Steady salary pay, hire and fire writers

I think we all feel that way, especially with the first draft. Covers/feedback help me, and revision. And revision. And revision. Ugh

Ian, are you writing the stories for yourself or Your Intended Audience?
If you have executed these five goals when your script is done,
1) Your Intended Audience knows who your Hero is?
2) Your Intended Audience knows your Hero's Goal?
3) Your Intended Audience knows who/what is in the way of your Hero not achieving their goal?
4) Your Intended Audience knows what will happen if your Hero fails?
5) Your Intended Audience makes a emotional connection to YOUR PROTAGONIST!
You are good, have finished a script, and know exactly who Your Intended Audience is.
Now it is time for the hard part, trying to find and pitch to an Executive that delivers content to YOUR INTENDED AUDIENCE.
Good Luck IAN.

Hi, Ian Thompson. Do you outline your scripts before you write them? That might help you execute your stories.
