Anyone else writing a novel atm? Want to do a weekly word count?

If you're writing and want to do weekly word count accountability v happy to do an end of week round up on here. Writing can a lonely business and I feel like sometimes it helps to be part of a group all working towards the same goal. I need 40,000 words down by close of play Friday.

Ps. This DOES not mean we beat ourselves up if we don't achieve the count we want, it just means we can share the moment ;-)

I Want Out

I tend to just follow how far the story is getting and try not to obsess over word count.

Lol if I don't plan my word count I don't ever hit my deadlines. I'm so bad at procrastination!

Sure it looks an intersting idea to keep our motivation high while writing and editing and translating. Count with me! I remember not being able to be accountable writing till I found late WriteDamnIt and really, helped me a lot to do it daily, maybe a prompt or to keep high writing. Sometimes reaching 40,000 words may seem impossible till... Let me count the next novel I'm into to publish this year, word count today (last chapter almost finished, the rest in the last stages of editing and translation to Spanish about to begin): 250,265 words (and probably I will add another 10k or more), happiness rate, to the moon and back a million time.. It's not easy being having the kind of disabilities I have and be able to write, publish, socialize, act, read, speak or sing in public.... and find the support of wonderful people like you to keep doing my best motivated.

I'm on 60,000 words now (ploughing on with Covid - typical), but I'm having to take a break because line edits from my other book are back from my publisher and these take priority. At this point I'm reckoning in finishing the WIP end of Sept latest, but line edits need to be back asap for Dec publication. How's everyone doing?

I'm at about 55,000 words on a novel due Aug. 1. It's going to be a photo-finish. (Incidentally, an editor wants a short story from me the same day, and another one wants a story by August 15. Not sure either of those are going to happen.
