Screenwriting : Managers that Work in the Fantasy Genre by Samuel Tracton

Managers that Work in the Fantasy Genre

Just finished a call with Scott Schulman through the site. He's a fantastic guy and gave me some great notes on my script, but he let me down easy on the fact that he just doesn't deal in fantasy TV scripts like I write. He advised me to ask around to see if I could find any managers that deal specifically in fantasy and superhero TV.

I've been researching managers by looking up those of writers on Fantasy shows I love on IMDBPro, but I was wondering if anyone here know of any?

"I've been researching managers by looking up those of writers on Fantasy shows I love on IMDBPro." Smart move, Samuel Tracton.

I'm not sure of any managers who work in the Fantasy genre and Superhero TV, but here's a link you can check: https://www.scriptreaderpro.com/screenwriting-managers/

Thanks, Maurice! I have looked through this list before, but I really appreciate the reply and help! :)

You're welcome, Samuel Tracton. Here's another article: "Screenplay Managers Accepting New Clients In 2022" https://freshmenscreenplay.com/screenplay-managers-accepting-scripts/

Samuel Tracton

Ah! I have not seen this one before! Thank you very much! :)

No problem, Samuel Tracton.

Dan MaxXx

check wga website and look up writers similar to you, look up their reps. It is a free listing. Just be 100% confident your craft is equal or better than peers.

The truth of the matter is. Managers don’t want newer writers. They want people who can work/get things done on their own. The best use of your time is to build up your portfolio of scripts, build fans of you and your writing, and get people to show your work off to their peers

Elie de Rosen

What's your script about, Samuel? It looks like we might be in the same boat. I've written a fantasy script as well, but am difficulty selling it.

Samuel Tracton

Dan MaxXx - Thank you! I will look up things there as well! And from the coverage I've received so far, I can only conclude that my writing is as strong as my peers. With any luck, I have not been misled. :)

Elie de Rosen - My entire portfolio is fantasy TV scripts, but the one I spoke with Scott about was THE CROWNS OF CAMELOT. The logline is "In the fantastical land of ancient England, newfound siblings Morgana and Arthur must navigate their complicated relationship to secure their family’s throne and unite their broken kingdom."

Elie de Rosen

If you want to send me the script, I'm happy to show it off to my writing friends.

Samuel Tracton

Elie de Rosen - The script can be viewed by its Longline page here on Stage 32 or downloaded from Coverfly. Just sent you the links for both. :)

I just finished my first script-draft #... So I'm not sure how it all works but maybe you'll want to consider entering a contest to find a manager.

Elie de Rosen

I've heard that contests can be a good way of attracting managerial attention. The only thing to bear in mind, apart from cost, is that they take time. It's not unusual for a contest to last six months.
