Hello all,
I am a UK based writer, prompted by lockdown to pivot from plays to screenplays.
After completing five feature screenplays, think I may be getting the hang of of it…a top three finalist in Final Draft Big Break one of my comp placings. (all of my scripts have managed at least a semi-final)
Now hoping for an inciting incident in my nascent career, namely getting read and making connections.

Hi @Jon welcome. I too enjoy horror and occasional dark comedy. Only recently I became interested in writing sci fi, like you lockdown changed my agendas. Social life was practically nil then unless hookup by zoom which felt contrived not to mention the camera made me look like a melon head so I studied a new subject. I still wrote my usual genre content/scripts but in my spare time read up on outer space and it’s time concept ending up doing masterclasses with astronauts.

Wow, are they sci-fi too of your plays? I wonder what it would look like, sci-fi in theatre

‘Can I change my mind?’ was a play first…it’s about a dying scientist who enters a dark bargain to have his brain ‘downloaded’ into the body of a condemned serial killer. The procedure goes wrong, and it seems that the serial killer may have survived.
No Sfx just a talented actor who can play two characters at once!

You're welcome, Jon Platt. I write the same genres as you except Dark Comedies. I don't know. I just can't get the hang of Dark Comedies. Yet.
