Hi to all,
I'm Norbert and I’m writing on a sci fi thriller and have almost finished my first draft (like 90 % I guess). But then comes rewriting and I’m curious what your experiences with rewriting are. Does it get easier after some time? How many rewrites did you do? How was your working process?
Nice to be part of this growing community, where you from?
Greetings from Berlin

Congratulations on getting to about 90%, Norbert Costea!
Each rewrite is a challenge, so I'm not sure if rewriting gets easier.
I like to rewrite my scripts a lot. I do separate rewrites: Dialogue rewrite, tracking rewrite (where I go through a script, tracking things like the B Story, Subplot, objects that characters use, etc.), visualize rewrite (where I read a script, visualizing it), etc.

Hi Norbert! So in my experience I’m the kind of person who leaves my script alone for a looooooooooooooong time and then I’ll go for a rewrite. But sometimes I’m rewriting and I end up liking the original draft more. So I guess it depends on what you’re writing.

Thanks for the tips Maurice Vaughan , good idea to seperate the rewrites, I will try that.
Hi Olivia Drake , thanks for your reply, I also had some breaks between writing, but know that I'm so near the finish line, I don't want to stop :D But I will see, maybe I will need a break a few weeks from now. What are you writing at the moment?

I find after the second draft the story begins to develop and it gets easier because the story becomes clearer with additional drafts.

Tim Bragg Yes, I already noticed this and started to refine character motivation, their world view, how the theme gets more complex with each new story line and in general the emotional arc is more clear
You're welcome, Norbert Costea.
