I have 3 projects yet to be finalized... 2 are comedy and one is a Drama mixed with a little bit of comedy elements.... I'm still kind of a beginner (But With Strong Concepts) but I started one project back in the late 90s and I want to see them through, because they are quite different than what I've been hearing about/seeing here on your stage 32 website.
I'm still in newbie territory and I'm trying to gather information network and brainstorm here on this side so I can learn more about the craft of screenwriting and everything involved with screenwriting.
But I must thank you I found this website to be absolutely incredible... And everyone is so kind and helpful.
Good on you for pursuing and sticking with these projects. Don't worry about being in newbie territory. There's much to learn from everyone on this platform. Ask questions, contribute where you can.
This community is all about collaboration and embracing a collaborative spirit.
Extremely grateful for all the kind words regarding the platform and the people within. Means a great deal!
I spoke to Shellie Schmals a few weeks ago about an idea (contribution of some sorts)... And she seemed to really like this brainstorming idea...
The idea goes like this... to basically have a brainstorming session with many of the members from beginners to pros...via Zoom, etc.
A general all purpose brainstorm session for beginner's ,immediates and professionals.
Also a kind of meet and greet with each other just to get to know each other's back stories inspirations creative thoughts or process, etc.
Shooting general screenplay ideas back and forth (maybe not explaining fine details of their screenplays, if the creator of the content chooses so.... just to protect the person's interests and creative ideas)
Synopsis ,outlines, general Sketches , treatments, draughts or any other ideas. (Excuse me if I use different terminology in the sentence because I'm not what notable of all the screenwriting lingo etc..
Maybe have a total brainstorm were Zoom participants create ,1 character each and the others create characters as well...in a real-time short screenplay idea with the chosen theme (maybe even set a time limit from beginning to end) picked by all members in the zoom meeting, beforehand?
And maybe someone in the group can document/write,type down the groups ideas...maybe it can be used later or may be posted to this group just for researching or maybe using to further the idea within the group???
Maybe this could be a good place to start collaborations with each other and exchange tips ideas future trends or current trends of filmmaking, etc.
Also Richard I didn't say before... but two of my screenplay ideas I find to be very original/ cutting edge maybe?
one is a Very different take on Vampires (Dark comedy/horror/drama)... Like the whole opposite end of the spectrum , on how people portray vampires.
And the other (Dark comedy/drama) movie is about a woman who is pregnant for "Several" years (Ouch....imagine that) her backstory, struggles and physical condition are Intense ....plus there's a whole other story (subplot) happening inside her womb with the two children... Who are the main characters as well, in this a very twisted dark surrealistic almost kind of way... This is the one screenplay that is almost completed.
Nice idea, Jon. And this is much of what goes on in the Writers' Room, especially with the Writers' Cafe, etc. If you're not a member, you can check it out.
There are 120,000 screenwriters here, 900K that work in other disciplines, and thousands of execs. I'm sure you can see the challenges. However, many, many people on this platform have set up private writing groups, Zoom groups and so on simply through networking and putting the organizational systems to get it going. I would highly encourage you to do the same! Cheers.

I created different types of cartoon like eyeballs for a visual dance party here in Southern Germany
Oh ok, Jon Seidman. I don't think I've ever heard of a visual dance party. That's pretty cool. How are your other projects going?
