I had a great discussion with a new friend who purchased the Audible version of my novel Oxygen Wars. It's always fun to hear how readers synthesize what one has worked on and put out there.
It's safe to say that I and my collaborator on the screenplay successfully created a trojan horse with our story. It's a thematically redemptive story encased in a rock-em, sock-em sci-fi war movie. In fact, the tagline for the novel is One slave can bring down a whole world of slavery. My friend, the reader, however categorically stated that that tagline is not the story. In fact, the story is about self-discovery and emergence and the threshholds one has to pass as one embraces one's own autonomy.
These kinds of discussions, or debriefs, always invigorate my desire to turn Oxygen Wars into a full-fledged movie; I'm working on it...
It's only a 4 hour "read" on Audible, but my reader said that despite that, the story is very full, plot-wise, and more importantly, thematically. He wrote a very good review on the Audible page and hopefully he'll post that on the Amazon page as well.
If you're curious, Oxygen Wars is available in print, e-book, and of course Audible.

Thanks for sharing Melton! I'll be having a vacation coming up, I've put the audible on my list. If you're interested in talking with someone more in-depth about adapting the story, check out our Adaptation Review service - https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/coverage/buy?id=66
Awesome! I'm honored! Thank you!
