Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this, I've written a first draft of a short, a final draft of a short, a few micros and I'm currently half way theough and animation feature. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience in screenplay competitions and whether they're worth it? I'm thinking of submitting to the Shore Scripts short film fund competition. Not expecting to win or anything but it would be nice to know if others do this. TIA

Hey Adam! I know that I already answered this question elsewhere, but I wanted to ask you if you've had a chance to get your work in front of any execs yet? Happy to recommend you some, we've got some great ones here on the platform :)

One important thing to remember is read all the details of exactly what they are looking for. At first they look good but the details can get you. I had one that I was looking at and really excited. It seemed perfect for a script I had just finished. Then I saw that you had to agree to attend the festival just to get considered. I'm out..

I haven't entered many script contests, Adam Shatwell (I mainly entered them near the start of my screenwriting career), but they can launch your career if they're the right ones; ones that'll get you meetings with industry professionals. Stage 32's contests do that.
