I'm asking a specific question on USA Theatre chains. For a new distribution company, do you need a certification in the USA for approaching Theatre chains, like AMC and such, for distributing movies into Theatres?
I'm from Canada, and for distribution, we need to get a distribution certification for the government to be able to project our movies into public places, like movie theatres. That's the reason for the question.

I believe that most will want a rating from the MPA, which will cost you a few thousands of dollars and possibly require editing. Also, AMC at least requires you to have at least $100k to spend on marketing before they even speak to you. What you really should do is locate a theatrical releasing company as most distributors have no skills or contacts in the theatrical space.
