The constant dilemma--when do you stop writing? Sometimes putting it down for a few weeks (or months) and coming back to it with fresh eyes can be the best thing.
I have a pretty good instinct for when a script is DONE! I mean, there comes a time when I apply the brakes, shift it into Park, kill the engine, and contact the Library of Congress for Copyright. I mean, come on? You gonna write this freaking thing til you hit the nursing home? Enough, already! Get on with your Life!! Plus, what's the point in chasing your warped definition of perfection when the damn thing is destined to become practically unrecognizable after you sell it? Prepare for your words to be ripped to shreds. The only thing remaining will be a stellar idea hanging from a lifeless carcass.

You're right, Frank M Victoria. Sometimes a writer can rewrite a script too much and do more harm than good.

Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself the script is “good enough”?
