The movie industry is just a business like all others. So don’t focus on just this industry to learn. Look at the world and how all businesses move and work.
To improve as a writer look at the world for influence and motivation. This quote is from one of my favourite chefs. His book “White Heat” became a template for modern cookbooks.
Look at how the world tells you a story. Look at how the world understands a story. Look at things like a tipping point. How much does it take for a population or group to change its opinion. What story do they need to hear.
Don’t turn your learning about writing into an echo chamber.
Just a thought.

Great topic, Craig D Griffiths. I do this all the time. I look at photos, videos, news articles, etc. for influence and motivation.

Maurice Vaughan also when people ask, “how do you overcome rejection?”. Don’t ask writers, ask a door to door salesperson. Ask people who gave rejection 100 times a day.
I am a strong believer in asking the world everything. I am never the first and I will never be the last to experience something.
Hope 2024 is killer for you.

You're right, Craig D Griffiths. Writers (or anyone) shouldn't be afraid or embarrassed to ask questions. It's one of the best ways to learn. That's why I really like the AMAs on here, Stage 32's webinars, and the live events in the Writers' Room.
2024's been killer. Hope yours is too.
