I have been subscribing to this blog since 2020, and have been silent. So what is a better time than now to start.
My name is Ian Cahill, and my music moniker is Comfort Within Noise. My passion for music has always been in relation to film. When I started writing music using a computer in 2003, my inspiration came from watching a movie. So I would mute my tv and start creating something. My interest in sound designing started when I started playing guitar in 1993. Over these years I have been learning, developing, growing, building relationships. So with the amount of years I have had in this field, one might say, “you must have a lot of projects working with filmmakers.” Well that would be an understandable assumption. The only film I have worked on currently is my buddies final film project when he attended film school in 2008. Recently I have been fortunate to be contacted by a filmmaker. Which I will be working with his team for his film. It’s never too late. With this being said, I am very open to working on a film project with little to no budget. My specialties are in dark tension building projects. If you would like to hear some of my work or just chat about film and music shoot me a message anytime.

Nice to meet you, Ian Cahill. I used to be silent on here too, then I started being active. You're gonna see a big difference as you become more active.

Brad Eastridge it’s my pleasure mate. Here’s another “recent” win. last July was my first major television series music placement. just received my first royalty check from BMI. Been registered as a composer since 1998/97. So this is definitely a marathon. The big changes I made in 2020 was investing in my education in music licensing, and letting go of my familiar warm market of local artists who have made it clear they have no intention of doing music professionally. So last 4 years I’ve been collaborating with whoever crosses my path on social media.

Maurice Vaughan thanks for the warm welcome. last four years have been about taking action, having intention for each action taken, and being prepared. I see you are a screenwriter. Working on any projects? I’ll be sure to take a scroll through your page tonight.

You're welcome, Ian Cahill. I'm working on a feature script and a pitch deck job. Ok, takes for taking a scroll through my page.
Congratulations on being contacted by a filmmaker for a job! Looking forward to hearing more about the film when you're able to talk about it.

Ian Cahill Congratulations, that's so cool! That's very insightful about licensing, and also changing/expanding your music collaborators to a more serious level.
