Hello Stage 32 members, I was born in Blind River Ontario, Canada, graduated from Windsor University with a BA and McMaster University with an MBA. I obtained a Certificate in Journalism in 2002 and a Certificate of Legal Management, CLM in 2011.
I am exploring the transformation of my memoir No Stone Unturned: A Remarkable Journey To Identity into a Television series. Think Philomena in reverse, the baby searching for her mother.
I am an author and Legal Management Consultant. I work as an advocate for children and adoptees, with an interest in public policy and legislation.
I spent 44 years searching for her birth mother, challenging the current law in Ontario Canada regarding non-adoptee’s access to their birth records. In 2004, I helped launch a weekday one-hour talk show on NBC Miramar, FL as the show’s Booker and Celebrity Producer.
In July 2018 I filed a petition with the UN Commission on the Rights of the Child illuminating numerous Articles of the UN Convention that the Province of Ontario has violated in its treatment of illegally adopted children.
I have been interviewed by WNVY ABC VT and WCAX3 CBS VT and my story has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers. My media appearances can be found at https://www.nadeanstone.com/media/

Nadean, As an adoptee who has gone through all the searches, I read your post with interest. Was 44 year search for YOUR birth mother? TheY know a lot mor now than they did back when it effected me as an adolescent. Best, Jed.

Welcome and this touched my heart. I was born in a small village in Northern Iraq - close to Mosul - and I recently started helping a woman find her birth family that is presumed to be from my village. This would be a great series.

Yes I searched for my Mum for 44 years and found her healthy and well. What complicated my search was the fact that I was NEVER LEGALLY adopted. Just given away by Mother Superior at the hospital. Nothing was done correctly during my transfer. Children's Aid was not called in. Rita Russell who took me from the hospital already had breast cancer and passed 2 years later, leaving me to her mother to be raised on a remote farm. It is an unbelievable story.

COOL, Nadean, i'll check it out. I think with DNA sites like Ancestry , it is easier to do today, then when I did it Birth certificates had to be aquired from Boston City Hall in ways I can't talk about here. Best, Jed.
