I'm all over the map with my tastes. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell (nonfiction) is something I loved, and highly recommend. A solid bio, Education of a Wandering Man by Louis L'Amour (and you'll see how he becomes a writer). Watchers by Dean Koontz, talk about flushing out an opponent so you are almost at tears when the creature dies. How about you, Amanda? Any recommendations?

I am reading "Hotel Laguna"! It's a historical fiction novel set primarily in post-World War II California. The story follows Hazel Francis, who moves from Kansas to California to contribute to the war effort. After the war, she finds herself in Laguna Beach working for an interesting, famous local artist. It's a coming-of-age story set in the post-war era, with elements of finding peace in the present moment, history, art and love ! Would recommend :)
