Filmmaking / Directing : Nolan's Odyssey? by Sam Sokolow

Nolan's Odyssey?

Just when you think Christopher Nolan can't dream bigger.... he's taking on Homer's THE ODYSSEY. WOW!!! I can't wait to see this unfold and then kick back and watch it. What do you think of Nolan taking on this most classic epic tale? https://deadline.com/2024/12/christopher-nolan-the-odyssey-confirmed-dir...

Maurice Vaughan

Christopher Nolan directing an adaptation of THE ODYSSEY. I'm sold before reading a logline or seeing a trailer, Sam Sokolow!

Billy Kwack

Hi Sam, good, he's a good director

Arthur Charpentier

What is an odyssey? I am not familiar with this topic.

Jack Binder

Michael Alan Elliott

Gotta love the classics.

Wow :)) I am excited to see how he goes to “show us” this amazing poem origins from 24 books :)) And curious about how he goes to translate the 8th century message for today! Thanks for sharing Sam Sokolow

Arthur Charpentier - The Odyssey is an epic tale - a poem divided into 24 "books" - written by a Greek author named Homer about 3,000 years ago. It follows a protagonist named Odysseus through his incredibly long and arduous journey home to his wife after the Trojan War. It's arguably the most classic "hero's journey" ever written. Somewhat interesting factoid is that the Coen Brothers loosely based their movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" on the Odyssey but I imagine Nolan will approach it more true to the original text.

Thanks a lot for the information. It's a pity that Christopher Nollan stopped making science fiction films.
