Your Stage : Wild Horses by Brian Kowalchuk

Wild Horses

Possibly the most controversial screenplay in Hollywood looking for Name Talent and $15m production financing. R-rated prestige drama. Several reputable screenwriting competition accolades. Overall Top 3% on Coverfly. Black List reader recently gave it a coveted 8 evaluation score, described it as "an awards season contender". Slamdance coverage wrote "the tone of the script is similar to a Thomas Pynchon noir" with "an expertly timed crescendo" and the lead male character "has the potential to go down in cinematic history". Logline on Stage 32 and IMDBpro. Need to attach major Name Actor & Actress for lead roles in order to close production financing with indie company that likes the script. Geoffrey Rush/Robert De Niro fantasy casting. Scorcese and David O. Russell fantasy directors. Janelle Monae fantasy female lead. Brian Kowalchuk IMDBpro (II). Thanks.

There are undoubtedly more controversial screenplays in Hollywood. What I meant to say is this is possibly the most controversial script in the current socio-political zeitgeist using traditional narrative format structure. The logline may shed a bit more light on this topic (especially the second sentence): A reclusive, world-famous classical pianist must perform a concert at Carnegie Hall to save his Montana ranch house from disappearing into a massive sink hole. A Jewish/African-American burlesque dancer he relies on to help ease his anxieties is targeted by a violent, assault rifle-loving, white supremacist.

I wouldn't mind seeing Steve McQueen direct this, or perhaps Melina Matsoukas, or David MacKenzie. I really liked Queen & Slim; and, Hell Or High Water. All-time favorites.

Maybe somebody on Stage 32 will be kind enough to try and bring this script to the attention of Melina or David or Steve. Producer credit, of course, plus will cut you in on back end.
