Here’s a prompt. How would you play it?
Prompt: "The Unexpected Mystic"
A parent drops their child off at school, as they do every day. The school security guard—usually polite but reserved—suddenly says something profound and personal:
“Your child has the energy of universal love. You’re going to feel that more and more as she grows. She’ll change you.”
How would you play this moment as the parent? What’s the emotional beat? How does it show up in your face, your breath, your body?
Can't wait to hear your answer :)

me personally I would be like "this security guard is clearly on drugs". I think my face would show confusion like why is this usually polite but reserved—school security guard talking about my child. I would play it off like the parent blows it off like no big deal or show the curiosity and confusion. I guess it all depends on the tone and context of your project.

I'd play it confused, Alexandra Stevens. It'd be written all over my face. And I'll keep thinking about it throughout the scene, next scene, and maybe other scenes.

Alexandra Stevens, I think the parent’s first instinct would be that split-second hesitation: a polite smile, a nod, that automatic “Thank you” we give in passing. But then it lands. You see it in their eyes: the weight of those words settling in, catching them off guard in the quiet space between rushing to drop-off and starting their day.
Maybe their breath catches, their hand lingers just a little longer on the car door, or their glance back at their child holds something softer, more in awe.

Maurice Vaughan oh yes i can see how playing it like that would leave the viewer feeling intrigued, at least that's how I would feel.
