Hi, Melissa Naftel. Welcome to the community. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Introduce Yourself Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge. You can talk about different things in your introduction post, but you need to introduce/reintroduce yourself to the community. You could check out other posts in the Introduce Yourself Lounge to get ideas for your introduction post. Let me know if you have any questions.
I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I noticed your username isn’t a proper first and last name. It’s Stage 32’s policy that members have a proper first and last name on their accounts. Please make sure you change this on your profile, or you won’t be able to access Stage 32. Many Stage 32 members are reluctant to accept network requests from profiles that don’t have proper names, and they’ll report the accounts as spam, which will cause the accounts to get blocked. I'm not sure about stage names. Let me check with Stage 32, and I'll let you know.
Jon Shallit, I think you're wrong. I have a French pseudonym. I was afraid that I would be discriminated against because of my nationality. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded.
Arthur Charpentier -- I agree about that name discrimination thing. But, I think you will find that as Corporate social engineering and Rampant wokeness dies a merciful death, the world will actually be looking toward Russia as a place and a people that stood their ground.
This is an abbreviated version of my real name but my author name, Rebecca Giselle (or R.G. Barnet) is a combo of my my middle name and a name that I liked. So I guess it's kind of a "stage name" or pen name if you will.
When I was in high school thereabouts I wanted to go by a pseudonym/stage name since I thought going by my real name was boring. Now, though, I go by my real name since it's easier than coming up with a fitting pseudonym/stage name.
Hi, Melissa Naftel. Sorry about taking so long to respond. Stage names are fine.
I suggest using a photo of yourself as your profile picture. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."

I prefer to use my own name if I have it. It may be stupid, but it's easier for me because of the transparency
