New to the site and seeking community

Hi everyone, I go by JC (or you can also call me Jess). I'm currently working on 3 indie projects (two shorts and a feature-length film), both as an actor and as part of crew. Happy to be here and looking forward to project collaboration and general networking!

Hi, J.C. Bigart. Welcome to the community. Glad to meet you. Stage 32 had a live Community Open House recently. You can watch the recording here (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-community-open-house-webcast-1). It'll help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry professionals.

Stage 32 also has a blog about navigating the platform and making connections: www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

What genres are the projects you're working on?

Glad to have you here J.C. Bigart! What are your 3 indie projects about? What are you looking to accomplish networking in the community?

Ashley Renée Smith

Hi J.C. Bigart, and welcome to Stage 32! I’m Ashley, the Head of Community here. It’s awesome to have you with us!

It sounds like you’ve got a lot of exciting work in motion, wearing both the actor and crew hats is no small feat, and that kind of versatility is so valuable in the indie space. I’d love to hear more about the feature you’re working on, especially how you’re balancing the creative and logistical sides.

In the meantime, I’d recommend checking out the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) and the Filmmaking Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing) to connect with other members doing similar work. And if you ever want curated connections or resources to support your goals, our team at Success@Stage32.com is here to help.

Looking forward to seeing you around the community!

J.C. Bigart

Thank you all for the welcome! Two of the projects are indie horror (one short, one feature length) and another is a short indie comedy. My hopes of being here are to learn more about various projects - not to try to force my way into them, but to compare my experiences so far with how other productions are developed as I'm still quite green. Basically, learning about the entertainment industry by osmosis :)

You're welcome, J.C. Bigart. I'm looking forward to watching the feature and shorts! The Lounges and Blogs are great places to learn more about various projects to compare your experiences and hear experiences from producers, directors, actors, writers, etc.
