Your Stage : B.A.D. (Build A Date) by Richard Hohenrath

Hello Stage 32 Community,

A few months ago I teamed up with fellow Stage 32 Actress-Producer Brooke Jacoby to develop a short script, based off of her initial idea. Since then, that script, B.A.D. (Build A Date) has placed in a number of competitions. Even winning Best Short Screenplay NY Winner at the New York Screenwriting Awards. B.A.D (Build A Date) is a satirical romantic comedy set around the rapidly changing 21st century social/dating scene --

When unlucky-in-love Ally agrees to attend a futuristic matchmaking consultation at the

quirky “Build A Date” workshop, she's sucked into a hilariously bizarre process where ideal romantic partners are custom made like designer handbags. But when her dream guy is backordered for 6–10 years, and a returnable knockoff fails to deliver, Ally stumbles into something she never

expected—a real connection with an unmanufactured man.
