I’m Salma Hassaballa, an Egyptian novelist with 14 published books, two of which have been optioned by production companies in the Arab world, including Adam’s Game with the renowned Sabah Brothers.
My latest novel, Alter Ego, is a psychological thriller set between the U.S. and Egypt.
Logline: Stranded in Cairo by a missed flight, a cynical American fashion mogul races to decipher the real-world landmarks from his nightmares to unlock a buried identity, before the truth shatters his empire and his mind.
The story explores the contrast between American practicality and Egyptian mysticism through the lens of a man forced to question his entire reality.
I’m currently seeking producer partners to develop this project for the international screen. As this is my first time pitching internationally, I’m happy to share the novel, treatment, or pitch deck. I’m also flexible on format, whether that means a traditional pitch, collaborating with a trusted screenwriter, or discussing co-development opportunities.
