I'm an independent author and the copyright holder of the book series "Hotel on the Edge" originally created in the style of "cinematic writing" and published on Amazon in 2025.
Currently I'm working on adapting the novel into a TV series and on a full script for the first 10 episodes of the first season. The potential of the novel is 22-24 episodes, each lasting 45-55 minutes.
Hotel on the Edge blends psychological thriller, dark comedy, existential sci-fi, and fantasy elements — anchored in fast-paced storytelling, sharp dialogue, and moments of absurd humor. Think Black Mirror meets Dark City, with a touch of The Good Place and The Expanse.
THE PLOT is continuous, multi-layered with elements of mind-bending mystery and black humor.
VISUAL STYLE — dark modern + techno-mysticism.
EACH EPISODE — a piece of a puzzle.
SUITABLE FOR FANS OF: Dark, The OA, Inception, The Expanse.
I invite everyone interested in this adventure to join the project.
UPON REQUEST: TV Series Bible, the pilot episode screenplay, tables of scenes, characters, locations, analysis for the first 10 episodes, and copyright links.
Thank you.

Hi Maurice. Spoiler alert: this novel is about the world we live in, but you have to go through a lot to see it without the scenery. :)

Hi Zaid. The main character is "slightly over forty", but in the second half of the first season there are characters your age. Only, I'm the author, and I'm unlikely to be involved in the casting... But I wish you luck!

Hi Alex Tur, I’m Ashley, Head of Community here at Stage 32, your project sounds like a wildly ambitious and compelling ride. The mix of psychological thriller, sci-fi, and dark comedy, with a visual style rooted in “techno-mysticism,” definitely caught my attention. Hotel on the Edge sounds like the kind of series that would spark deep conversation and obsessive fan theories, and I love that.
If you haven’t already, I recommend sharing more about your adaptation process in both the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) and the Producing Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing). You may also want to share your writing process and publishing experiences in the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting). It’s a great space to talk about how your cinematic writing style evolved and how you approached adapting your novel into episodic storytelling.
You might also enjoy the Stage 32 Writer’s Room, it’s an incredible space to meet weekly with working executives, collaborate with other screenwriters, and find even more resources. You can try a free month here: https://www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip

Alex you're a brave guy and l wish you well on your adaptation journey. l have written a prequel pilot to my book trilogy, methinks adaptation is a long step too far for me.

Hi Ashley,
It’s a true honor to receive such thoughtful feedback on my debut work — thank you! I’ll do my best not to disappoint your expectations. You’re absolutely right: I’m fully committed to bringing Hotel on the Edge to life as a TV series, and I’d greatly appreciate any guidance or support along the way.
At the moment, I’m preparing scripts for the first three episodes, aiming to submit to the Filmmatic Sci-Fi/Fantasy Awards. But I’ll definitely take your advice and join the conversations in the lounges you recommended — the community already feels incredibly welcoming.
Thanks again for the encouragement — it means a lot!
Best regards,
Alex Tur
