Hi All.
I just finished my first full feature movie trailer using AI. If this feature comedy were to be green lit, I would want to film it with real actors, so it acts as a concept for the general gist and pace of the movie.
It's a growing field with AI video model systems being valued in the hundreds of million to billions of dollars. Hollywood is aware and pivoting to AI.
Looking forward to the ongoing discussions as this technology continues at an insanely rapid pace.
It's a ballsy move to create your trailer using just Ai..... but then I stopped typing . I was typing this out to explain how I have used Ai for years and when you can manage and manipulate it properly it's really effective etc... but then I noticed the last scene., for MovieFlo. Now this changes everything. You say "I just finished" - was it you, or an agency?
It was me - I just like MovieFlo as the tool for creating it instead of hopping around to Higgsfield, Runway, etc.
Very impressive. You can do a full ffeature? How much time and money does it cost?
A cool proof of concept, Randall! Good quality video, though I believe AI still has a long way to go before it looks like real actors and real acting.
I wonder if it ever replaces real people. Probably will. Not sure I like the idea.
I get the idea, but this won't work for investors, it's simply not good enough. A trailer should get you excited to watch a certain movie, this doesn't do that. Script might be okay but it contains lousy directing and acting. If you want to make a well POC with AI you have to go all the way and get a specialist involved, which will cost you money. I think you'd be paying about $50k for a trailer that works. But then again, do you really need that in order to get produced.
Randall Scott White Ah ok. I know how hard it is to do something like this as a solo worker. Just when I scanned the QR code at the end of the video it took me to an agency.
Hi Willem Elzenga where have you plucked the price tag of $50k from? Thanks
I am just making that up - my company is doing R&D in AI movie making.
Ah ok Willem Elzenga I'm researching Ai movie making companies and to be honest a lot of what is being produced is pretty low quality and was suprised to see a 50k tag attached to your statement. Thanks for clarifying

For 50k the AI trailer needs to be competative with traditional movie making. It's proven AI can do that, but you need to go the right way about it. Which costs money and therefore regular industry budgets. Most new AI filmmakers and AI companies seem to just try or experiment for publicity which resolves in a lot of low quality material.

Well you certainly know what you're talking about. I still very much a newbie to this. I know how to use Gen Ai and which tools work best to create the best results but as far as the business side of it, I'm pretty green

This movie looks like a lot of fun! It serves as a fantastic art concept for producers to get an idea of! I've noticed most naysayers of AI, have never actually tried it, or found the fun with seeing their imaginations come to life! I've always wanted to see my art animated. I recently began uploading my drawings into Sora and prompting it. It's a perfect brainstormer, "YES; and"s my ideas further and farther, and surprises me with the different kinds of personalities it gives the environment. It reminds me of a modern day Exquisite Corpse, originally invented by The Surrealists, only now it's a Digital Exquisite Corpse. Just like when different artists/writers take turns creating a comic book of a favourite character, Sora, frequently changes the appearance/voice of my original character. I imagine AI is going to be the perfect brainstormer that every writer/director/actor/voiceover artists/etc have been waiting for. These inventions enable us, with much much less waiting, and more time creating, to transform the ideas from our minds into tangible concoctions. This is my 10-second episodic, "The Watcher of Grey Harbour". If you like Ray Bradbury, Twilight Zone, Hitchcock, philosophy, the sights/sounds of the oceanics, you might get a kick out of it.... https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9Qo_mR6q1pR-g6RFkjBOGQbK5GqyUK3h&si=...
Thanks Curt, it was super fun to make! The whole movie is funny if a producer wants the script - the exact goal of making the trailer, yes
Would love you to drop in today (2pm pacific) and talk about it. We're adapting it at DSP. Here's the link for you and anyone esle:

As far as I'm concerned.....The AI journey, has just begun!
Impressive work on your Trailer! Can't remember seeing any type of software mentioned!

Very good! Very enjoyable! You should teach an online class about how you did it, prompts used to keep consistency, etc.

Eon, I mostly use MovieFlo.ai - it has all the models in one place and is great for an all-in-one story creation system
Got that Randall Scott White! It establishes my present methods also, using mainly one software. The rest is basically commands.
I use other software and in-house techniques, with editing to achieve a variety of final results!
It's going to be a mind-blowing future and phenomenon with AI !
I've sent a network request if need to message me on any subject!
