Glad to have won quarter finalist in the animation category. I know I am joining an illustrious and talented group! Dr. Dearth Will Ruin the Earth is at first blush a simple story about world domination, but its underbelly explores climate change and racism. I enjoy writing works that explore the relationship between surrealism, science, mental health, and perception.

Congratulations Pamela! making it to this point as a huge accomplishment. I know that the judges said that the scripts this year were incredible. I don’t know if you’re thinking of writing another animation project, but we’re announcing a brand new interactive screenwriting lab with one of the top animation literary managers from Zero Gravity, who will help you take your script from idea to completed script before the end of the year: https://www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-8-part-screenwriting-lab-write-your-animation-feature-or-tv-script

Hi Pamela Winfrey, congratulations on being a quarterfinalist! I’m Ashley Renee Smith, Head of Community here at Stage 32, and I love the layers you’re exploring in Dr. Dearth Will Ruin the Earth. The blend of surrealism, science, and social commentary sounds like such a fascinating and timely lens for storytelling.
You might enjoy connecting with members in both the Animation Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/animation) and the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), they’re great spaces to share your creative process and spark discussions with others developing similarly thought-provoking projects. I can’t wait to see how your story continues to evolve!
