I have an idea for a super production of a dark comedy about drug trafficking, who can I offer it to?

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Santiago Amarilla. Stage 32 has a blog that'll help you navigate the platform and connect with creatives and industry professionals all over the world. Producers, directors, executives, screenwriters, and more. www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

Stage 32 had a Community Open House last week. The recording is free to watch, and it'll also help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry pros. www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-october-community-open-hou...

I suggest turning your idea into a script. It'll be easier to get producers, directors, etc. interested if you have a script. And you could post your script on your profile. Producers search profiles for projects. That and networking are how I sold four short scripts to a producer. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your script on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)

You could also pitch your script to executives, managers, etc. through Stage 32's Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions). The Pitch Sessions are mainly to get feedback on pitches, but members have gotten managers, signed shopping agreements, etc. through the sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

And you could enter screenplay contests. Stage 32 is the Global Screenwriting Contest Hub (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/contests).

hey Santiago Amarilla - thx for putting this search out here in the platform. do you have a script for the idea already or are you looking for someone to take the idea and turn it into a script? cheers

Santiago Amarilla

Sebastián Tudores Thanks for your message!

Yes, I already have the full script and treatment — both registered with the WGA.

I’m still refining a few details in the ending, but overall I’m very happy with it.

It’s a dark satire based on the real hippos Pablo Escobar left in Colombia — a wild story with heart, madness, and absurd humor.

I truly believe it has the potential to become a cult comedy.

If you’d like, I can share the treatment or the logline with you.

appreciate the offer Santiago Amarilla but not actively looking right now myself. but the story is, indeed, unique! here's what I would do:

- prepare a pitch deck (lots of choices under the Education tab here on Stage32 on how to best do that)

- then, as my colleague Maurice Vaughan mentioned above, get out and pitch it to some targeted people through the pitch service - that's the most direct way to start getting feedback on your project and to connect to people that are in a position to move your project or guide you in productive directions.

And I would definitely list the project on your Stage32 profile, at least the logline and a synopsis. keep us posted on the journey please!
