Introduce Yourself : Looking for a short screenplay (4–5 pages) – actor-driven, festival-bound by Sebastian Ba

Looking for a short screenplay (4–5 pages) – actor-driven, festival-bound

I’m a professional actor/director with an internationally screened debut feature, currently developing a short performance-driven film (4–5 minutes).

I’m looking for a complete short screenplay (not just a scene) with a strong payoff, built around a single character in a contained situation.

Tone & references:

– character-driven

– psychological tension

– minimal exposition

– realistic, contemporary, no genre gimmicks

Could potentially work if it's a Twilight Zone/Outer Limits type of script- if actor-driven is not possible

The script will be produced as a festival short.

Full credit guaranteed.

If you have an existing script that fits, or would like to write one based on a clear brief, please get in touch.

Thank you.

Hi, Sebastian Ba. Welcome to the community. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know that I moved your post from the Screenwriting Lounge to the Introduce Yourself Lounge since you're introducing yourself, and the Screenwriting Lounge isn’t the place to find scripts. It’s a place for screenwriters to discuss topics about screenwriting, share content (like screenwriting articles and screenwriting videos), ask questions about screenwriting, swap scripts for feedback, ask for feedback on loglines/etc., and offer tips and advice on the craft and business of screenwriting. Let me know if you have any questions.

You could also search for a short script in the Logline section (www.stage32.com/loglines).

Stage 32 has a blog that'll help you navigate the platform and connect with creatives and industry professionals all over the world. Screenwriters, producers, executives, actors, and more. www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

Stage 32's next Community Open House is Dec 29th (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-december-community-open-ho...). It's free to attend. It'll also help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry pros. Even if you can’t make it to the Open House, sign up and you’ll get the recording in your Stage 32 Education Library when it’s available.

I suggest adding a profile picture of yourself. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. And if you have a picture, your profile will show up when someone searches for you. You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."

Hi Sebastian, do you have any videos I can watch that you made? I love the twilight zone and outer limits

David Taylor

I have an old one we could crop - because it contains deliberate repetition. It's about a little boy in a remote seaside village whose grandad just died. Oh wait, you might find it a bit gimmicky? Depends on what you mean. It's called OLYMPIC GOLD. I'm extremely fond of it as its very funny and is emotional. Currently twelve minutes. Cast - The Boy and three voices, I think, plus a grandmother's arm.

Hi guys, I apologize for the missing profile pic. Still struggling to upload it and it fails for some reason- don't mean to be a figureless shadow behind a curtain:)

"don't mean to be a figureless shadow behind a curtain." Script idea, Sebastian Ba. Send an email to Technical Support. support@stage32.com

I've tried to change my location in my profile for years, it never works. It also tells me I have no profile picture -- See my profile picture on the left. -- I don't mind; I like quirky. Any excuse not to update my profile picture will do, I look like Grizzly Adams now.

I’ve sent you a network/ connect request. I’ll DM you the script after you accept

David Taylor

Can you attach PDF's to a DM? I didn't know that.

Sebastian Ba

Hi James LO. I haven't received your request yet. Would you mind trying again?

Travis Seppala

I just posted some loglines for shorts I have that might fit your needs, but they seem to have vanished now. Weird. I'll attempt to DM you instead.

Travis Seppala

It won't let me DM you until you approve my connect request.

Maurice Vaughan

You can't attach PDF's to a DM, David Taylor.

the producer-facing logline will contain a spoiler since this is basically a two-beat short, so i won’t say it here.

here is the audience-facing tagline:

THERE’S A NAIL IN MY SON’S BRAIN.

GET IT OUT.
