Hey fellow producers, I recently held a short film showcase at my local indie theater. The event was sold out, and the feedback was amazing! People want more! They want to see original content from local filmmakers. Plus, they're willing to leave their house, go to the theater, sit with other film fans, and even pay for the privilege.
I know so many of us are focused on only one or two projects, and I get it... Most of the time, so am I, but this event showed me that I need to be more involved on the local level and look beyond my own projects. A rising tide lifts all boats, as they say.
What are you doing in your community to support the film scene? Please share some of your successes, and inspire those of us who are looking for ways to support local film.

Congratulations on the showcase selling out, Michael Fitzer, Mfa! I do all my networking online, but it'll be great to network in person and support the film scene in my community. Thanks for the idea.
