Introduce Yourself : The Last IYW of 2025! by Brandy Camille

The Last IYW of 2025!

Woo the past year and a half has flown by! For that that are not familiar, I'm Brandy. I've been on staff here at Stage 32 since June of 2024 and I run our Member Help Team with my partner in crime, Laquan. I love movies and I love film scores. My favorite composer is Danny Elfman but I've also been listening to John Powell a lot (come through with that score from "How to Train Your Dragon"). I also adore the work of Hans Zimmer and John Williams. Seeing Hans Zimmer live in Vegas was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

I was thinking with the season that we're in right now how much movies play such a big role in Holiday Traditions. One of my best friends doesn't consider it Christmas until she and her family have watched "A Muppet Christmas Carol" at least five times. My favorite move is "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (don't get it twisted...it's a Halloween movie...argue with somebody else because I'm right lol) but also classic animated and live action versions of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" (although the newest version has a score by Danny Elfman that I love). Of course the first two Home Alone films (I'm old enough to remember when they were new, long before they gained cult classic status), The Holiday (Hans Zimmer scoring a rom-com is so orchestral yum) and Love Actually (because duh). The Family Stone I haven't watched yet and I will surely become emotional since we lost the incomparable Diane Keaton this past year. But I'm so blessed that her work and example remain with us. She gave us weird girls something to aspire to and I will remember her always and in all ways.

Whatever you and yours celebrate this time of year, I hope it warm, fuzzy, safe, joyful, abundant and full.

Hi, Brandy Camille. Happy Holidays! I rewatched How The Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey this month. It's still an incredible movie, and I picked up some screenwriting tips from it.

Amazing score by the late great James Horner....I was sad when they finally took down the Whoville sets on the Universal backlot. I always laughed during the tour because right around the corner from Whoville was the sets from Psycho and The Bates Motel lol

I didn't know the Whoville sets were taken down, Brandy Camille. They could make a Whoville movie. And I just got a script idea. It's a Horror How The Grinch Stole Christmas kind of script. Thanks.

Brandy Camille I love this post, Brandy!!! And I agree, those composers, and those movies, they always move me, and have the power to transport me to the ... the epic holiday, the purest joy of Christmas, I always seek, and find it in those stories, and that music. And I want to thank you, you've assisted me in so many things, questions, emails, everything you do, it's just unbelievable. Happy, Happy Holidays to you and your partner, and a wondrous 2026!
