A bit about myself: I’m a medical student and script writer. I love writing emotional, character-driven stories and I’m really drawn to showing how even the broken parts of people can still be beautiful. I’m here to learn, grow, and connect with other storytellers.

Hi Ayesha Simra and welcome to Stage32! Much respect for the effort you're putting into attending med school AND writing your scripts. I love your POV on finding beauty ... everywhere. I am curious if any of that approach is informed by your experiences with or desire for studying medicine? wishing you a fulfilling 2026! cheers

Hi @Sebastian Tudores,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. It genuinely means a lot to me.
And yes, studying medicine has quietly shaped how I see people and stories. Being around vulnerability, resilience, and unspoken emotions every day makes me notice small human details that often become the heartbeat of my characters. I think medicine teaches you to observe deeply and storytelling lets me translate that observation into emotion on the page.
Wishing you a wonderful 2026 as well, and looking forward to learning from the community here.
Best,
Ayesha Simra

Thanks a lot! @Libby Wright
Med school definitely keeps me on my toes, so writing is my little escape hatch.
Mad respect to your husband and dad, going through that journey twice in one family is legendary. I’m really happy to be part of this community!

I really believe brokenness and beauty often live in the same place. That idea sits at the heart of my script. I’m excited to share more of my work as I grow here. Looking forward to learning from everyone around.

Ayesha Simra Welcome to our community! That's fantastic, you are bringing your physical, biological, anatomical healing toward the healing, regenerating, and liberating aspects that are so, so vital in stories. We are all constantly learning, and growing, and stories allow us the emotional space, to feel and completely transform. Bravo, and I wish you all the success and luck this new year!

Ayesha, Dr. Samlaska here...your journey is just beginning and I know you will have many life experiences with patients ahead of you. There is no greater lessons on life than the inside of a physician's exam room... What do you plan on specializing in?

Thank you, Dr.Curt Samlaska . I really appreciate your words. I completely agree, medicine offers a rare window into human stories and resilience. I’m currently a medical student, and I’m strongly leaning toward cardiology as my future specialty. I’m excited to learn from both patients and storytelling along the way.

I am excited for you...I remember my medical school days very vividly. If you are like me you have that burning desire to produce, whether that is an article for a journal, a textbook chapter, a lecture, teaching, writing novels...film...I have to produce. It's in my "jeans"...LOL.
