Introduce Yourself : Hey, everybody! Screenwriter from Portland, OR here! by Hunter Ashton

Hunter Ashton

Hey, everybody! Screenwriter from Portland, OR here!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I originally started my film & television career in the art department on productions including Crash (Showtime series), In Plain Sight (USA series), and Terminator: Salvation. Most recently, I was an Executive Producer on the documentary, "Left Unsaid: Never Ending" about the punk band I co-founded and led in the early 2000s. I am currently a screenwriter and an author/illustrator of children's books in Portland, OR.

I have several spec scripts and tentative projects I'd love to share with whomever may be interested! Mostly in the dark comedy vein, 30 and 60 minute pilots.

Producers. Directors. Anybody that "has a 2nd cousin in the industry looking for spec scripts," let's connect!

Hi Hunter, nice to meet you. Sounds like you have a lot of ways to be creative! And great you've been able to get onto productions there in Portland.

Thanks Sydney S!

You're welcome, Hunter Ashton. What's one of your spec scripts about?

Hunter Ashton

Maurice Vaughan A half-hour dark comedy Pickleball pilot that was a finalist in several screenwriting comps last season, as well as a one-hour pilot (also finalist) that I'm currently re-writing about a past-his-prime game show host, loosely based on Dante's Inferno. Those are the two I'm most excited about at the moment, along with several other projects waiting for the right team. Always happy to send over loglines, bibles, scripts. Thanks for connecting!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Hunter Ashton. Congratulations! Your projects sound interesting, especially your series that's loosely based on Dante's Inferno! And I just watched my first Pickleball match yesterday. It was on Amazon Prime. I don't know the rules, but it was fun and interesting.

You could post your scripts on your profile. Producers search profiles for projects. That and networking are how I sold four short scripts to a producer. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your scripts on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)

Awesome. Thanks again, Maurice Vaughan!
