One Script at a Time? Or Multiple at Once?

Hello Fellow Screenwriters,

I have a general fun question. Are you the type of person who writes multiple scripts at once, or do you prefer to focus on one at a time? Like many writers, I usually have multiple ideas I would like to write. I usually write one at a time, but I get really passionate about different topics at different times. Maybe that's just my ADHD talking, but the market is ever-changing, so I never know which ideas are going to land.

I like to do both, Sofia Servizio. Work on one script and work on different scripts at once. When I'm working on a script and get a new script idea, I save the idea or make a quick outline for it so I'm not thinking about the idea while working on the script.

I tend to focus on one project – whether script or novel – at a time, but I keep outlining, working on the characters, and doing research for new ideas as well.

Sofia Servizio I definitely focus on one at a time. Don't know if that's good or bad, it's just the way my focused, task-oriented brain works. In a manner of speaking, I like to fully dive into "solving one puzzle" before moving on to the next. I could always try more than one at a time though, and see how it goes.

I like to work on multiple scripts, Sofia Servizio. In the Netherlands, some people call it the "refrigerator method": if I don't know how to continue a story, I put it "on hold" in the fridge and move on to another idea. Then, the next day, I can look at the "refrigerator story" with a fresh perspective.
