I’m both a novelist and a composer — but I don’t usually write my books to music.
Instead, I’ve found that songs I wrote years ago somehow ended up becoming the emotional soundtrack to my novels.
Not intentionally.
Almost like they were written for the story before I knew the story existed.
Has anything like that happened to you?
A poem that later fit a chapter perfectly?
A short story that became the spine of a novel?
I’m curious whether creative work sometimes “knows” more than we do.

Hi, Kat Spencer. I'm not sure if that's happened to me, but sometimes I write to songs, soundtracks, and instrumentals. I also make up lyrics to use in my scripts sometimes.
I love writing lyrics Maurice Vaughan! It's fun when they can be a little vague and yet say everything you need to say.
That's truly magical and fated Kat Spencer , a sure sign you are on the right path.
