If you’re an international creative trying to work with U.S. producers, you’ve probably realized that talent alone isn’t what opens doors — understanding the system does. The American entertainment industry operates very differently from many international models: it’s investor-driven, casting-leveraged, risk-aware, and deeply relationship-dependent. That means you can have a brilliant project, but if you don’t understand how U.S. decision-makers evaluate opportunity, structure deals, and build partnerships, your momentum can stall before it even begins.
In this webinar with Alexia, you’ll explore why U.S. partnerships matter, how producers truly assess projects, how casting functions as financial leverage, what motivates American investors, and how to find and approach the right producing partners. You’ll also learn the structure of U.S. pitch formats, how to build professional outreach strategies, how to navigate industry relationships with authority, and what red flags to avoid.

Does she talk about the relevant immigration / Visa items? The O1 visa is for creatives, but they must already have had superior accomplishments in their home countries in order to qualify.

Hello everyone, this is for Alexia, is there any possibility for you to accept a good story and walk along with it till the final product is in launched in film festivals etc?
Is Hollywood accepting African stories drama/comedy at this time? Because I was I. A platform in Tennessee International film festival where I was kind discouraged by a Hollywood representative who said they were not accepting African stories at the time that was in 2022 when my short film won best international film
How is the process of financing if someone’s project is accepted for partnership.
I am seriously in search of not only financing but also partnerships with a few number of my scripts and also to transform my award winning book into a blockbuster, and I’d love to hear you talk about this. Like how I can make it happen in Hollywood
Thanks again for this opportunity to have you teach us these skills to make our dreams come true in Hollywood
Best regards

Hi Shadow Dragu-Mihai I can give you some insight on the Visa but you would need to consult an attorney for that.

Here is a question for the Q + A from Tony!
If international creatives do not qualify for the O-1A Visa, is there another method or Visa for them to be allowed to work in the country?

Thanks, Sydney S! Great question from Tony. Alexia can definitely speak to how international creatives usually navigate this from a producer’s perspective during the Q&A.
